The foundation of Shanthala was placed in the year 1986 by a team of well qualified, experienced Metallurgists and Mechanical Engineers for the manufacture of Grey Iron, Ductile iron (S.G. Iron) and Alloy Cast Iron Castings with an initial investment of INR 4.6 million and an installed capacity of 600 tons/annum in a plot of 20234.28 SQ MTS.
Shanthala provides complete solutions for a gamut of casting requirements. We have, to our credit, the experience of having developed more than 5000+ products, supported more than 80 customers operating in different market sectors since inception.
The Company has evolved to reach a present production capacity of 10,000 tons/annum with an investment of INR 360 million in fixed assets with a comprehensive range of foundry and machining facility. It is taking a bigger leap and is evolving into a foundry for the future with an expansion to produce 24,000 tons /annum in UNIT - 2 with high pressure moulding line & continuous mixer. The investment envisaged for UNIT-2 is INR 500 million.
Shanthala was named as Shanthala Ductile and Grey iron foundry. This name was selected to respect the person who first encouraged this venture. Secondly, we wanted the name to indicate its activity. It was a small company under SSI registration. Our venture was mainly supported by people who had confidence in my capability. The promoters never looked at immediate returns. Everybody desired to create something in SSI sector to disprove the feeling to customers that SSI cannot produce quality products. So far, it is the strength of the systems created and the transparency in business that has brought us up to this level. Promoters always aimed at keeping the facility and technology up-to date with the utmost importance of HR development.
If we satisfy our customers, but fail to make a profit we'll soon be out of business. If we make a profit without satisfying our customers, we'll soon be out customers. The secret of doing both lies in one word "SERVICE". Service means doing something so valuable for the customer, that he is glad to pay a price that allows us to make a profit.
